Geographic Targeting

It is easy to hyper-target your ads to a specific location

Geographic targeting is available for pre-recorded ads only. Host-read sponsorship ads are serve nationally, meaning that all listeners in your selected market will hear the sponsorship.

By setting a location targeting rule, you restrict your ad to only run in those areas. Acast uses the IP address of the listener to determine where they're located, and therefore whether to serve your ad. You can only use one geographical targeting type, which means you can’t mix regions and postal codes, for instance.

For pre-recorded the geographic targeting available is:

Country-level: You may only select one country per campaign. For campaigns spanning multiple countries, please create separate campaigns.

Regions/States: You can select as many States or Regions as you would like.

Sub-regions: In the UK, some example sub-regions include England, Scotland, and Wales. The sub-regions depend on the selected country and region.

Cities: You may select as many cities as you want

Postal Codes:

For the following countries, please use only partial postal codes with the number of characters indicated below:

  • United States: 5

  • Canada: 3

  • United Kingdom: 2 - 4

  • Brazil: 5

  • Ireland: 3

  • Japan: 7 (specified for the first 6. The last digit defaults to 1)

  • Netherlands: 4

  • Portugal: 7 (accurate for the first 4. The last 3 often default to -001)

  • Singapore: 2

  • Sweden: 5 (must be formatted "XXX XX" example: "113 58"

For your convenience, you can paste in a comma separated list of postal codes.

Any additional targeting beyond country-level increases the CPM.
